I love this place! I go here a few times a month.

picture This sit down Korean "deli" is a small, neat and clean restaurant that serves yummy food. Most of the entrees are between $5.99 and $9.99, but don't let the prices fool you, you'll get a good sized portion of very good food. A minor quibble is that the descriptions in English are pretty bare bones and not helpful, so if you know a lot about Korean food or are adventurous and don't mind being unsure of what you ordered (other than beef, seafood, etc.), you'll have a yummy dinner.

picture2nd Myung-Ga Kim Bap joint now open in Centreville right next to Starbucks, Subway and ABC store. Same Kimbap offerings(w/ beef, cheese, kimchi, or tuna) as the Fairfax location but with new items on the menu like several Korean stews and BBQ items(L.A. Galbi). Their dduk-bokki is crazy delicious - I would say the best in town. Try their cheese dduk-bokki, it makes things even better...

pictureI love this place! I go here a few times a month when I just want some good "down home" Korean food. I'd go more often if I lived closer. The menu is limited (that's why it's a deli) but the quality is top notch. I especially love their ddukboki, dolsot bibimbap and kimchee bokumbap. Of course, their kimbap is excellent too. The 2 same dudes are always there on the weekends as waiters and they treat you like family. Besides the great food and friendly service, the place is very clean and I love the funny Korean variety shows on the TV. You could pay more at other Korean restaurants and have more selections on the menu but if I had to choose one place for Korean comfort food in this area, it would be Myung-GA Gim Bap.

pictureI've been in search for the best kim bap (gim bap) in the area since I've first moved down here. I've first had this yummy treat at a Hmart up in Maryland 2 years ago, and absolutely loved it. Now I'm not Korean, but I'm asian and love sushi and kim bap is a cheaper and more filling alternative.
Myung-Ga Gim Bap has THE best kim bap I've EVER eaten. The portions are big and filling, and the rolls are perfectly lightly oiled and super tasty. I ordered the Beef Kim Bap, Tuna Kim Bap, and Myung-Ga Kim Bap (variety of kimchi, beef, and tuna kim bap) for takeout and it was so good I ate all 3 rolls in one night (super filling). They also prepared the rolls really fast. The beef they put in was actually marinated and had a great sweet salty flavor, the tuna was really tasty, and the variety roll was just awesome. I have yet to try other places, but this is definitely the closest place to me to have the best kim bap in town. I'll be sure to try the other items next time I go back!

Korean Cuisine Kimbap
Kimbap is a popular Korean dish

Kimbap is a popular Korean dish made from steamed white rice and various other ingredients, rolled in gim (sheets of dried laver seaweed) and served in bite-size slices. Kimbap is often eaten during picnics or outdoor events, or as a light lunch, served with danmuji or kimchi. According to the Samguk Yusa(Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms), ancient Koreans ate a wrapped food called bokssam, indicates that this is the origin of the dish.
